Crop
Tunnels
Crop tunnels or high tunnels as they are sometimes called, are designed
to provide early and late season protection in addition to creating
a better growing environment during the production period for a
variety of different crops.
Blueberry,
raspberry, strawberry, vegetables, cut flowers, forest seedlings
and perennials all experience improved quality and production when
protected from the detrimental effects of frost, wind, rain and
cold.
Following
the lead of some European countries, we also expect to see them
used for dwarf apple, cherry and other tree fruits, allowing producers
to bring their crops to market both earlier and later, as well as
increasing overall production and the quality.
